My background is in integrating marine science, socio-economic research, and fisheries management to support resilience and equitable resource use. I currently work as a Program Specialist at the IOOS Association, coordinating multi-year federally funded projects across 11 Regional Associations, leading strategic communications, and building partnerships that amplify the impact and value of ocean observing data. With experience spanning Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Pacific, I have managed conservation initiatives, integrated social science principles into fisheries management, and advanced data-driven strategies to support coastal resilience and sustainable access to marine resources.

I work for the IOOS Association. The non-profit umbrella organization for 11 regional associations The 11 IOOS Regional Associations design, maintain, and operate the U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS), the largest federally-certified network of these observing systems. Each system uses many tools to gather information, which can be turned into useful products that meet local and regional needs. Observing technology provides near-real-time updates on waves and currents, temperature, flooding and rip tides, water quality, conditions like pH and salinity, species abundance, and other biological data.
IOOS engages in education at multiple levels, from partnering with academic institutions and universities, to collaborating with Sea Grant, to developing classroom materials for educators spanning K–12 through the university level.
